computer networks

(a) Networks devices & protocols.
Computer networking devices are units that mediate data in a computer network. computer networking devices are also
called network equipment, intermediate system (is) or interworking unit (iwu).
Networking protocols, categorized by their nearest (soi) model layer.many of these protocols, however, are originally based
on the internet protocol suite (TCP/IP) and other models and they often do not fit neatly into osi layer.

(b) Ethernet & lans
Ethernet is a family of frame-based computer networking technologies for local area networks (LANS).The name come from
the physical concept of the ether. it define a number of wiring and signaling standards for the physical layer, through means
of network access at the media access control (MAC)data link layer, and a common addressing format.

(c) WANS&ROUTERS
A wide area networks is a computer networking that cover a broad area (i:e any network whose communications links cross metropolitan,
regional, or national boundaries. this is in contrast with personal area networks , local area networks, campus area networks, metropolitan
area networks.

This article is about the computer networking device. for the rotating cutting tool, see router woodworking. for the variety of network device
found in household network setup see residential gateway. for the software used in electronic design automation, see routing electronic design automation.
(d) wireless networking
wireless networking refers to any type of computer networking that is wireless. and is commonly associated with a telecommunications networks whose interconnections between nodes are implemented without the use of wires. wireless telecommunications networks are generally implemented with some type of remote informations transmission system that use electromagnetic waves such as radio waves for the carrier and this implementation usually takes place at the physical level or “layer”of the network.
(e) SWB, NFS, FTP,WEB DAV
Openfiler is an operating system that provides file based network attached storage and block based storage area network. it was created by xinit system and is based on the rpath linux distribution. it is free software licensed under the gnu general public license version 2 its software stack interface with open source third party software.

1) INTERNET HISTORY AND BACKGROUND

a) INVENTIONS, ORIGINS AND DEVELOPMENT

In 1992 In keeping with its birth at CERN, early adopters of the World Wide Web were primarily university-based scientific departments or physics laboratories such as SLAC. in 1994 first international conference organized by Robert Cailliau it was held in cern it was held every year since in april 1993 CERN had agreed that anyone could use the web protocol ad code royalty free. In 1996 to 1998 it has become commercialization and in 1999 to 2001 “DOT.COM” the low interest rates in 1989 to 1999 helped increase to start up capital amount but they were able to sell their ideas to investors because of dot,com concept.

b) INTERNET

Internet is connecting a two computers by using network that use standard internet protocol (TCP/IP). it is a network that consists of private, public, academic and government networks to global that they are linked with optical networking technologies.

c) DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WEB AND INTERNET

Internet is connecting two or more networks by using network and WEB is a way of accessing information over the medium of internet. it is information sharing model that is built in internet that uses HTTP protocol.

d) TECHNOLOGY ( URL, PROTOCOLS, DOMAIN etc)

URL means uniform resource locator it specifies an executable file that is used by fetching FTP. The first part of address is called as protocol and second part is resource name that specifies Ip address or domain name.

e) IP ADDRESS ( STATIC VS DYNAMIC )

IP address it is a internet protocol it is a identity of an each network TCP/IP defined an IP address as a 32 bit number. Static IP address are manually assigned to a computer by an administrator. Dynamic IP addresses are most frequently assigned on LANs and broadband networks by dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) servers. They are used because it avoids the administrative burden of assigning specific static addresses to each device on a network.
